Billy Selph Loses His Hair

My favorite anecdote from Madeline Webb’s youth is a story about a boy who made the mistake of chasing her home from school one day. It provides a glimpse of her spunky character — and of her relationship with her Daddy, William Webb. The incident probably happened in 1920 when Madeline was eight years old. She recorded the tale for biographer Jack Rogers in the mid-1970s.
